Tula Lotay - THE RESURRECTED cover artist spotlight!
over 5 years ago – Thu, May 30, 2019 at 12:43:32 AM

Hello backers!

The campaign is going well and we're 125% funded with one week remaining. We're also €242 away from hitting our first stretch goal of a print from Chris Shehan; an incredibly talented young American artist.

As the campaign nears it end, I thought I'd take a moment to spotlight the wonderful cover art that we have for the trade paperback edition of our series.  We somehow managed to wrangle Tula Lotay into drawing the cover and boy is it magnificent!

In addition to illustrating comics such as Supreme: Blue Rose, All Star Batman, and Bodies, Tula has drawn covers for DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Valiant and other major publishers. She is also the founder of the tremendously successful 'Thought Bubble' comic convention in the UK (I'll be exhibiting there later this year). I collect comics and I love Tula's work and honestly never imagined I would have the chance to collaborate with her!

I've copied in some of her comic book covers and movie posters below. Her work is mind-blowing!

Thank you again for your support and belief in our project!

Massive thank you to the backers of the 'Producer' reward tier!
over 5 years ago – Fri, May 24, 2019 at 02:22:52 AM

Extremely happy to announce that we now have our second and third 'producers' of the THE RESURRECTED series.

Not only will these backers be named as producers in the physical and digital versions of the collected edition, but they will also receive one of Renee's fantastic character sketches, three copies of the physical book, copies of the standard and variant covers,  Michael's pinup, an acrylic Carnouche Productions pin and all of the digital rewards. Not to mention Chris' pinup if we hit out first stretch goal.

One of our producers, 'Mr Google,' actually appeared in a cameo role as an evil scientist in issues three and five.

The campaign is going well and we are XX funded with XX days remaining.

Thank you again and I'm honoured you chose to help produce our project!

Australian comic books on Kickstarter!
over 5 years ago – Thu, May 23, 2019 at 12:34:28 AM

As THE RESURRECTED campaign is rolling on nicely I thought I'd take a moment to point you guys towards four very cool Aussie comic book campaigns currently on Kickstarter. They are definitely all worth checking out!

First up is Shane Walsh-Smith's Undad graphic novel:

 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shanewsmith/undad-graphic-novel-trilogy-a-zombie-family-drama

"'I'm still a dad. Nothing, not even death, can ever change that.'

Undad is more than just another zombie story.

It's the story of one man who struggles to keep his own darker nature at bay and his family together, while being (literally) dead inside."

Next up is Shaun Keenan's XCT: Spartacus SDCC Exclusive:

 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2067957354/xct-spartacus-sdcc-exclusive

"Histories greatest figures of myth and legends have been brought back to life - to fight!

In the year 2069 the Xtreme Champion Tournament (XCT) has cloned some of the pasts greatest heroes, villains and monsters.  Caged and forced to comply, they have only one choice - to compete in the most brutal sport in the world as a part of the XCT!"

And here's Darren Koziol's Black Label Edition DARK OZ:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/467328161/black-label-edition-dark-oz

"Be sure to order the first two issues of this ground breaking prestigious new series from DARK OZ. Each issue is a self-contained one-shot, while being sequentially numbered in the 'Black Label' series.

Issue #1 is 'The Wailing Wall'

Issue #2 is 'Soldiers of Misfortune'

Awesome comics with stunning art, all Australian made (writer, artists, colours, production & printing)."

And finally, here's Mike Cooper's Universe Gun Book 3:

 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1244066508/universe-gun-book-3

"Six years ago I decided to get serious about making comics after a lifetime of dabbling in the medium.  I've been a lifelong fan of both superheroes and comics, and felt I had my own spin on the genre waiting to burst out on to the page.

Universe Gun is the end result. It's a high-density, high-color work of speculative fiction that celebrates the "super" in superhero. Super-humans can be much more than just policemen and soldiers, as they're usually portrayed."

100% funded and first stretch goal announced!
over 5 years ago – Sun, May 19, 2019 at 04:20:03 PM

And we are........... 100% FUNDED!!!! And that's thanks to all of you wonderful backers!!!!! Can't tell you how grateful I am that you all pledged your hard-earned cash towards our comic! We were actually funded early yesterday morning, which means it only took 10 days to hit our goal. I'm absolutely ecstatic!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2129323534/the-resurrected-1-5-volume-one-a-dark-sci-fi-thril

I'm even more excited to announce our first stretch goal - all physical backers will receive a print from Chris Shehan if we hit 4000 euros! I think we're a great chance considering that we're already on 3100 euros and still have 18 days remaining. I didn't think it would be possible to beat last year's funding goal but I'm starting to dream a little now...

I'm a massive fan of Chris' style and have been waiting for an opportunity to collaborate. He's already making a name for himself in comics and I can guarantee that it won't be long before the big two snap him up.
